Tree Tops Annual Dues and Proxy

Posted on May 18th, 2012 at 5:58 am in General

To All Tree Tops Residents:

You should have received your annual dues package.   If you have not received one by Monday, please contact Jerry as soon as possible at 727-785-5725.  You will all be happy to learn that our annual dues are being decreased to $2000 per year.   This is as a result of closely monitoring our expenses.

The most important item in the package at this point in time is the proxy.   We need to ensure we have a quorum as soon as possible.  Even if you are able to attend the meeting, we ask that you please submit your proxy via one of the three options below.   If you decide to attend the meeting the proxy will be returned to you at that time.  We do this to ensure that we have a quorum prior to the meeting starting.

1.      Mail in your proxy to First Choice Management in the enclosed envelope.

2.      Drop off your proxy at 10712 Beagle Run Place in the box on the front porch.

3.      Fax your proxy to First Choice to the attention of Jerry Massie at (727) 787-5725

Again, please submit your proxy today.  If we do not have a quorum, we cannot conduct the business of the Association.  This would result in considerable additional expense to the Community.

New Scam in Tree Tops and Harbour Links

Posted on March 27th, 2012 at 11:14 am in General

This was sent to the board today to share.   The first part if from a Tree Tops resident and the second part is from a Harbour Links resident.

Wanted to forward the below information on to you from Harbor Links.  The same father/daughter team came to my house and said they lived OUR the neighborhood.  This happened last week.  If you can make all aware, it would be greatly appreciated.

 XXXXXXXX

 Dear Residents:

I wanted you to be aware of a strange occurrence that happened this evening, Monday March 26, in order for you to be on the alert.

A girl about 11-13 years of age rang our bell early this evening. She was soliciting supposedly for funds for a trip to an inline speed skating competition. We chatted as her dad waited on the sidewalk.

- I asked them where they lived and they responded they lived on Emerald Links.

- I asked them the specific house number, their name and if I had their email address as they implied they were relatively new to the community.

- After they left, I checked my database to see who lived at the house number they gave. It belongs to someone I know so I knew they were lying.

- They had approached another neighbor a few doors down by the time I caught up with them to ask what was going on since their information was bogus. The dad told me he worked for Stadium Toyota and that some of his customers lived in here. Those alleged customers had suggested he approach residents in our neighborhood who might be willing to help this girl out. The father was wearing a white shirt with a Stadium Toyota logo.

- The CDD was called. They suggested I call the sheriff’s office immediately and report the incident. I also called Stadium Toyota to see if this guy was employed there. I was told he had been but was no longer there. An officer came by later and took down more information.

If you had or have a similar incident, the last name this guy gave was Peters. DO NOT give them any money and DO call the sheriff’s office.

Solicitation Scam Information

Posted on January 5th, 2012 at 8:56 am in General

Please see the below information regarding how a resident was recently solicited by a person who was misrepresenting themselves.   A complaint has been filed with the police and our security camera’s will be searched for a picture of the person but please be very careful when people solicit at your door.

As a general reminder we have a “No Solicitation Policy” within the neighborhood and have signed a notice with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office regarding this.   If you are solicited, it’s usually prudent to tell the person of our no solicitation policy and that you will be calling the police to report the incident.

A young man has been going door to door in the neighborhood.  He arrived at my home @ 8pm on 12/20/2011 and had told my husband and I that he lives in the neighborhood(10012 or 10002 Tree Tops Lake Rd which do not exists. ) and that his dad is a doctor in Tampa.  He was young…no older than 18-20, very clean cut and had tons of flyers and documentation with him.  He continued that he plays baseball for an area team and that his team is doing a fund raiser to help send them to Hawaii or Orlando…( I didn’t catch that part of the conversation) and he was hoping that the neighbors here in Tree Tops would help him achieve his goal.

Anyway, he said that he was selling sponsorships to the Children’s Hospital on MLK.  Each sick child that you sponsored would be receiving books throughout the year. If you sponsored a child/children his team would come clean all of your windows and gutters out for helping them with the fundraiser.

After checking with the hospital, they had no such knowledge of the fundraiser and in fact were upset to hear that their name was being used in such a manner.

I am very skeptical of many people, but this kid had a solid story and was extremely believable.

Oktoberfest Still On With a Twist…..please read

Posted on October 8th, 2011 at 4:52 pm in General

To all our Tree Tops neighbors:

Given the board’s decision not to sponsor the Oktoberfest due to potential liability, Tony and I have decided to host it ourselves, without neighborhood financial involvement. The party will still occur on October 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at our home (10007 TTLR), but it will (hopefully understandably) shift to a BYOB event.

A stein will be out that night for anyone who wishes to help defray the costs. We have had an enthusiastic response to the event, and would still like to see the neighborhood have a great party, with an opportunity to spend a fun evening together!

Get out your lederhosen and come have a good time!  Come hungry and come casual, and don’t forget to RSVP to us at 813-920-1373, or to terry98988@hotmail.com.  Hope to see you soon….
